Therapist
Thougts are just thoughts.
There are situations in life when you feel stuck. No matter how much will, experience, knowledge and strength you possess, it feels as if you are not getting ahead.
One's usual way of thinking does not seem to be very helpful, but rather in the way. Why do people stand and stomp in the same place?
I work to lift up your beliefs that are the basis for your particular way of handling different life situations. With this as a starting point, new strategies are also developed to deal with unfavorable thoughts and feelings. The acquired knowledge of how to think leads to an improved ability to handle stress and anxiety, increased self-esteem, better relationships and thus optimized quality of life.
Life goes on HERE and NOW. Right here and right now.
Not yesterday and not tomorrow. Here and now.
The only thing that binds you to yesterday is your thoughts about yesterday. The only thing that binds you to tomorrow is your thoughts about tomorrow. And what do these thoughts do with you in this now?

About me
My name is Melita Cukur and I am 50 years old. Of these 50 years, I have worked with people for about 25 years - first as a social anthropologist at University of Gothenburg and later also at Uppsala University. Getting to meet people in in-depth interviews, in their social and cultural context taught me to appreciate and become aware of the role of context in our lives. I was so deeply grateful for the trust I had been given to take part in several hundred hours of life stories.
All this laid the foundation for my genuine interest in the human experience, in the individual and his inner processes. A knowledge that it is we humans who attribute value and importance to what surrounds us but also what is inside us grew. So I continued with psychology studies at University of Gothenburg and became a behavioral scientist. I also became very curious about what lies behind our meaning-making processes - I wondered what it was that drove us to think what we thought and also feel exactly what we did.
How do we actually think when there are no given templates, what kind of processes are set in motion? What is behind these processes, what beliefs keep them alive? And what can we do to understand these beliefs and also what can we do to get them to play on our team and be "on our side"? How do we make OUR thoughts work for us and not against us?
With the basics of metacognitive therapy but also largely in theories about how our beliefs operate, I have succeeded in finding the best theoretical framework for a form of therapy that is both clear and concrete.
Feeling good is the goal, as good as possible. Is there any meaning to it all other than feeling good? It can actually be that simple. Only then can you think about sharing your well-being.
We cannot control which thoughts will arise. But we can choose how to relate to those thoughts. And therein lies our strength.
